At present, there are many different ways of repelling birds on the market, and different vignerons will choose the way that suits them according to their own preferences and experience. So, when is the best time to use these bird repellants?

First of all, let's take a look at the annual growth cycle of grapevines, which are different in the northern and southern hemispheres:

May - In the flowering stage, the fruit set begins to appear.

End of July to August – the veraison stage, when the color of the grapes begins to change

Most winegrowers don't start bird control work until late in the veraison period or even during the harvest, but it's actually a little too late when the birds around the vineyard start to realize that your vineyard has fruit to eat, they will take the surrounding areas as habitats, and the number of birds will continue to increase. When birds form a fixed habit, it is difficult to drive them out of this area, so when harvest time comes, most of the effects of bird control methods will be weakened.

So, when is the best time to start? Our suggestion is during the flowering stage, the flowers will attract some insects, then attract the attention of birds. When the fruit set begins to appear, birds may have been eyeing your vineyard. During this period, if use bird deterrents that do not produce adaptations, such as laser bird repellents, will bring good long-term results and greatly reduce losses.
